AWAZ Cumbria are offering social media help to voluntary organisations, community groups, charities, clubs, SME’s and societies in a relaxed, informal setting. Local communities, voluntary and community groups and SME’s are invited to this free practical social media advice session. You'll get practical hands-on advice for putting social technology into action for you or your cause to help you reach a wider audience and promote the good work you do or communicate with family, friends and colleagues. Refreshments provided. This is a free event and places

Tools like blogs, podcasts, video and social networks can give a real boost to organisations, often for no or little cost. So these experts are offering you approachable help and support because they believe it can help. You might just want to see what is possible and go away and think about it. You might be itching to set up a blog and start using it. Perhaps you think video might help you tell your story but don't know where to start? All is possible.

Whether it's getting started sharing your group's stories through blogging, forming a community around a Facebook group, or reaching out and engaging new supporters and service users through Twitter or many other social web tools, the session will provide help with suggestions on how to effectively use social media to promote an important cause or just use the tools for your and the communities benefit.

There'll be no lectures, just people with knowledge, ideas and a passion to help you make best use of the internet for your group or organisation.

No boring speeches, no jargon.

Refreshments provided.  This is a free event and places
